Job Description

North Alabama OBGYN Associates, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is looking for an experienced, full-time Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our practice!

Our team of seven physicians, two CNMs, and three CRNPs works closely together to care for women through every stage of life. We deliver at Madison Hospital and see patients at our office just off Balch Road, directly across from the hospital. As our third CNM, you'll practice full-scope midwifery four to five days a week in clinic, with some extended hours, and share a weekday and weekend call rotation with our physician team.

Responsibilities

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before, during and after pregnancy, including care of the newborn
  • Provides well-woman and gynecologic visits across the lifespan, including menopause management
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status by taking health histories and performing advanced physical examinations in specialty area
  • Performs in-office procedures within your clinical privileges
  • Writes prescriptions and referals to physicians as needed

Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests to establish diagnoses and develop a comprehensive treatment plan

Coordinates the discharge planning process with patients, families, and all members of the multidisciplinary team

  • Schedules return appointments for follow-up care, as necessary, according to best practice standards of care
  • Determining the effectiveness of the plan of care through documentation of client outcomes
  • Consults with other specialties and disciplines as appropriate to meet all health care needs of patients

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Active Alabama Registered Nurse license
  • Master's degree from an ACME-accredited nurse-midwifery program
  • AMCB certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife
  • Approval (or eligibility) to practice as a CNM in Alabama
  • Experience practicing as a CNM, including labor and delivery experience preferred
