The Assistant Director of Nursing - Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assisting with the management of the health services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with nursing policies, practices and procedures which reflect person centered care, evidence based practice and current rules and regulations.
This may include, but is not limited to, assisting with the management of written policies, practices and procedures which ensure health services staff in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents and the Community.
Assists in overseeing the effective admission, care, transfer and discharge of residents as it relates to health services. Completes written and oral reports/recommendations as needed regarding the operations of the health services department.
Assists with coordinating health care services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident’s plan of care.
Assists with managing quality assurance, infection control and wound care programs.
Education, Experience and/or Training
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
- Must possess a current active license to practice as a RN in this state.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
- QA, Infection Control or Wound Care experience desired, but not required.
