Clinical Nurse Educator, Staff Development Specialist, Harborview Medical Center

Harborview Medical Center – PDNE (Professional Development and Nursing Excellence) dept. has an outstanding opportunity for Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), Staff Development Specialist.

The CNE, Staff Development Specialist supports clinical workforce competence and productive student clinical experiences through education, consultation, and collaboration.

Emphasizing service excellence, patient and staff safety, and organizational integration, the Clinical Nurse Educator provides leadership and resources that promote:

Effective orientation, competency development, and evaluation for assigned workforce groups, with a focus on Patient Care Technicians, nursing students, and nurse technicians.

Evidence-based educational programs and resources that support staff development, clinical excellence, and quality patient care.

Strong collaboration with nursing program leaders and clinical partners to support student clinical placement, onboarding, and learning experiences.

  • Timely consultation and communication to address clinical practice and educational needs.
  • Effective interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration, coordination, and professional partnerships.
  • A culture of continuous learning, professional development, and evidence-based nursing practice.

Requirements Include

  • Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of WA.
  • BSN degree.
  • Three years of professional nursing experience, including one year in a leadership or teaching position.

Desired

  • MSN degree.
  • Nursing specialty certification.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
