Job Description
UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator. This position will support the outpatient ambulatory clinic staff at our Montlake and Northwest medical center campuses.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full time / 100% FTE
Day shifts Monday-Friday
Primary Job Responsibilities
Plans, develops, organizes, teaches, and evaluates staff education. This may include orientations, in-services, residencies, preceptorships, BLS/ACLS renewals, and continuing education programs
Conducts Specific Classes and Competency Verifications
- Works with staff to identify opportunities for professional growth and implements educational strategies to support staff in transition
- Acts as an education resource to support quality patient care
- Collaborates with community agencies outside the medical center regarding professional nursing practice
- Promotes and supports a high functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development
- Participates in clinical and organizational policy and procedure development
- Supports systems and processes to promote evidence-based practice and clinical inquiry
- Participates in the development of quality assessment and improvement programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Active licensure to practice as a RN in Washington State
- BLS
- 4 years of clinical RN experience in an ambulatory setting
- 2 years of experience in education/teaching, including experience developing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating educational programs
- Strong working knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles
- Strong skills in program development, coordination, and presentation in a variety of modalities
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
