What You'll Do

The Registered Professional Nurse IV, Ambulatory Care is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.

The RN IV assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law, and provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor. These RNs contribute to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external.

Provides nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation.

Collects and records relevant patient health data accurately and works collaboratively with the care team to provide the patient care.

Analyzes assessment data to identify patient problems and utilizes data to continuously meet care coordination needs.

  • Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
  • Identifies patients' response to patient care and works with other the other patient care team to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Implements and records interventions appropriate to diagnosis or patient problem.
  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of identified goals and initiates or participates in patient outcome improvement activities.
  • Adheres to approved, research-based practice standards.

Directs and supervises patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time according to department guidelines.

Performs and documents Point of Care (POC) testing and quality control in accordance with established laboratory policies and procedures.

Maintains and documents testing reagents/supplies and equipment according to established laboratory procedures.

  • Acts effectively as a group leader or preceptor when assigned.
  • Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity and rights.
  • Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
  • Assures that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.
  • Provides proof of current BLS validation to supervisor.
  • Completes required unit credentialing according to departmental policy by providing documented evidence of completion to supervisor.
  • Provides to supervisor evidence of completion of all required training and competency validation.
  • Performs Similar or related duties as requested or directed.
  • Triennial completion of professional nursing pathway for current practice level and provides evidence of completion to supervisor.
  • Provides an annual in-service for co-workers and provides documented evidence of activity to supervisor.

Demonstrates clinical problem-solving ability through written exemplar, patient/family feedback, co-worker report or direct managerial observation.

Develops and evaluates systems for orienting new staff and students as demonstrated by direct supervisory observation.

Contributes to the body of nursing knowledge through use of research and participation in professional practice committees and organizations as measured by portfolio review and supervisory observation.

What we need from you

Education

  • 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing, required or...
  • Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required or...
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, preferred

All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.

Experience

Minimum 5 years Registered Nurse experience, required

Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse experience, must be within relevant practice area, for RN with vocational/technical diploma or associate degree, required

Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience must be within relevant practice area, for RN with BSN or Masters, required

License/ Certification

  • Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse, required
  • BLS certification will be required within 6 months
  • Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements

We are also offering a sign-on bonus for this position! The bonus amounts are based on the position type and are listed below. Additional details and eligibility requirements will be discussed during the interview process. At the discretion of leadership, this program may terminate or be suspended at any time.

Bonus Amount

  • RN (excluding management) sign-on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $20,000 for full time
  • LPN sign on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $10,000 for full time

Pay Transparency

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Minimum

USD $41.39/Hr.

Pay Range Maximum:

USD $62.71/Hr.
