Inpatient / Primary Care Physician

Los Angeles, CA | Salary Based on Experience

Kedren Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient / Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive primary, preventive, and medical care to adult and pediatric patients.

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician will provide acute and chronic disease management, preventive care, treatment planning, and coordination of care for medically underserved and vulnerable populations. This position works collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure patients receive high-quality, culturally responsive, and coordinated care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary, preventive, and acute medical care to adult and pediatric patients.
  • Evaluate patients, obtain medical histories, perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and develop treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient response and treatment effectiveness.
  • Coordinate care with internal and external specialists and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assist patients with chronic conditions in accessing appropriate care, services, and health education.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Provide culturally and linguistically responsive patient care.
  • Identify and monitor high-risk patients and collaborate with the care team to address patient needs and reduce health risks.
  • Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, peer review, and the development of clinical policies and protocols.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and training to clinical professionals and students as appropriate.
  • Maintain an average of at least 20 patient visits per full clinic day.
  • Participate in on-call duties by phone only.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree required.
  • Current, unrestricted California physician license with no pending or previous disciplinary action from a state licensing entity.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Current BCLS and CPR certification.
  • Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Must be eligible to participate in Medicare, Medi-Cal, F-Pact, and other federal health programs.
  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or with medically underserved populations preferred.
  • Experience with quality management, utilization review, and medical administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards and healthcare quality improvement processes preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records required; eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, documentation, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
