FCHC Urgent Care - Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Department: FCHC Urgent Care
- Status Hours: Full-time, 72 hours bi-weekly
- Shift: 1st / 2nd
Urgent Care Hours
- Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Job Summary
Fulton County Health Center is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our FCHC Urgent Care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients by performing assessments, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing treatments within their scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen patients to determine their need for medical attention.
- Perform history taking and problem-focused physical exams.
- Conduct pre-operative full physical exams.
- Diagnose orthopedic conditions.
- Record data in the patient electronic medical record.
- Assign durable medical equipment and refer for physical therapy as needed.
- Perform injections, strapping, splinting, and casting for sprains and fractures, as well as remove such devices.
- Provide general wound care, including dressing and bandage application.
- Conduct pre-operative counseling as needed.
Prescribe narcotic and non-narcotic pain medications, anti-inflammatories, and anti-infectives when appropriate.
Order and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and bone scans.
Interpret laboratory results as well as diagnostic imaging results.
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner (NP): Registered Nurse with certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Physician Assistant (PA): Physician Assistant Certificate.
- Must hold an active State of Ohio license.
- CPR Certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
