UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Cardiology is the first and largest cardiology practice in Cedar Rapids and joined St. Luke's Hospital in 2010. We formed this doctor-hospital partnership to better serve our community. This enables us to coordinate care better and focus on increasing quality and reducing the cost of healthcare.

The UnityPoint Health - Cedar Rapids Heart & Vascular Institute encompasses the heart care specialists and services of St. Luke's Hospital, St. Luke's Cardiology, and the cardiovascular surgeons. This collaborative relationship allows us to provide the highest quality of care with fewer complications, better outcomes, and higher survival rates.

Established team of 15 physicians and 8 Advanced Practitioners

Established practice serving the Cedar Rapids community, and satellite outreach clinics in Anamosa, Manchester, and 3 other communities.

Diverse practice covers sub-specialization in interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, peripheral vascular and electrophysiology.

• Part of a large multi-specialty group, including primary care, providing a built-in referral base.
• Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• Ability to practice with imaging/CT/MRI with General Cardiology
• Clinic hours: M-F 830AM-5PM
• Shared call amongst the providers
• Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiology
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
• J-1 waiver sponsorship available
