Job Description

Mohawk Valley Health System(MVHS) is currently seeking BE/BC Family Medicine Physicians to join our established team of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

MVHS is dedicated to supporting our physicians and Advanced Practice Providers enabling them to deliver premier healthcare to our region, while keeping patients at the focus of all we do.

MVHS currently has 17 primary care offices stretching across the Mohawk Valley, with options of living in rural or urban communities. This position is a full time employed position to join one of our offices.

This position includes a traditional outpatient practice, with 35 patient contact hours and 5 hours of admin time per week. You would be working alongside and established team with great support. Positon/Community Highlights

  • Education/Experience Requirements

Required

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.

Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Current NYS Certification/Licensure

Federal DEA Certification

Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable

Key Responsibilities

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care in a traditional outpatient setting, managing a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients, supervising clinical staff, and participating in an established team-based care model.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and have completed a residency in a relevant medical specialty. Applicants are required to possess a current New York State medical license and be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
