Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our Respiratory Therapy team! We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Respiratory Therapist who will provide our patients with top level care. You will also consult with other health care practitioners in the management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders.

Role Overview

  • Render respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.
  • Consult with and aid other health care practitioners in management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders, with minimal direction.
  • Assess patient’s condition and follow up to ensure appropriateness of therapy.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory treatment/therapy.
  • Assist in providing education to other departments regarding respiratory therapies and modalities.

Key Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
  • A current NY State Respiratory Therapist License.
  • Current NBRC Credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred.
  • Pediatric/PICU experience preferred.

Additional Information

Location: Main Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, in NYC.

Schedule

  • Night Shift (7:00pm-7:30am), nights vary, includes weekends and rotating holidays.
  • Reporting to the Supervisor, Respiratory Therapist

Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by medical staff and consult on the management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders. They are also responsible for assessing patient conditions, educating patients and families, and collaborating with other departments.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy, along with a current NY State Respiratory Therapist License and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. BLS certification is required, while ACLS and pediatric/PICU experience are preferred.
