The Endocrinology Service in Division of Subspecialty Medicine the Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time Academic Clinician at the Instructor level or higher focused on the care of patients, education and research at our Manhattan location with expertise in the evaluation and management of evaluation and management metabolic bone disease (primarily osteoporosis, hypercalcemia of malignancy, and bone metastases) in cancer patients.

The Endocrinology Service at MSK provides consultations for a 500-bed hospital, outpatient clinics, and support for a growing regional network.

The Endocrinology Service includes an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and incorporates advanced practice providers in clinical activities.

In addition to an internationally recognized program in thyroid cancer, the Endocrinology Service also provides specialized expertise in pituitary disease, adrenal tumors, metabolic bone disease associated with malignancy and cancer related therapies, hyperglycemia management in patients actively receiving oncologic treatment for other malignancies, and endocrine complications of immunotherapies.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinically evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions on the inpatient and outpatient clinical service

In the outpatient clinical setting, primarily focus on management of metabolic bone disease (primarily osteoporosis, hypercalcemia of malignancy, bone metastases) in cancer patients

Advance our research mission of discovery and innovation in metabolic bone disease in cancer patients by supporting accrual to clinical trials, observational studies and acquisition of biospecimens.

While not required, candidates can participate as a principal investigator or co-investigator on grants or contracts by competing for internal or external research awards to advance our research efforts related to obesity and diabetes in cancer patients.

Contribute to the teaching and research missions including supervising Endocrinology fellows, medical residents, medical students, and advance practice providers

  • Participate in educational and quality assurance activities
  • Serve on institutional and service committees

Requirements Include

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent or equivalent with excellent clinical, communication and team skills
  • Board eligible or board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
  • New York and/or New Jersey State License Eligible
  • Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Child Abuse Identification & Reporting

The largest of MSK’s clinical departments, the Department of Medicine (DoM) encompasses experts in solid tumor oncology, hematologic malignancies, subspecialty medicine and supportive and acute care services.

Offering a range of services both in multiple sites in New York City and at their suburban outpatient locations in our Regional Care Network (RCN), DoM physicians oversee the care of the whole patient.

The Regional Care Network serves the areas surrounding Manhattan and extends from Southern New Jersey to Eastern Long Island and brings the same high level of expertise, clinical care, and access to clinical trial protocols that are available at our main campus in New York City.
