Job Summary

Spaulding Rehabilitation Cape Cod is a nationally recognized rehabilitation leader in a unique Cape Cod setting. As the Cape’s only hospital-level rehabilitation provider with inpatient and outpatient programs, we are part of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and Mass General Brigham.
Spaulding Cape Cod offers a highly attractive outpatient practice environment with clinic locations in Plymouth, Hyannis, Orleans, Sandwich (Adult & Pediatric), and nearby communities. The outpatient therapy program emphasizes a 1:1 treatment model, specialty practice areas, mentorship for new graduates, continuing education, clinical education days, certification reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, and a robust Therapy Clinical Ladder designed to recognize clinical expertise, leadership, and professional growth.

This role is split between the Hyannis and Orleans clinics and includes a geographic pay differential.
Helps people of all ages to participate in the activities and occupations that are important to them. Routinely works with individuals who have physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges that affect their ability to perform everyday tasks.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes
- Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
- Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting as needed.
- Provide education to patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises they can do at home.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
- Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay current with new techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree Occupational Therapy required
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
Licenses and Credentials
- Occupational Therapist [Massachusetts License] - required
- Certified Hand Therapist [CHT] - preferred
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers - preferred
Experience
- Occupational therapist experience 0-1 year - preferred
- Hand therapy experience 0-1 year - preferred
- Experience in a residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility 0-1 year -preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
