Job Summary

The Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the Digestive Health Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) are seeking a full-time clinical faculty member at the Instructor rank.

This role is primarily focused on providing comprehensive General/Core Pediatric Gastroenterology care, encompassing ambulatory clinics, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and inpatient attending/consult services.

In addition to core GI responsibilities, this faculty member will actively participate in CHCO’s well-established, multidisciplinary Aerodigestive Program—a premier regional and national referral center with over 15 years of experience evaluating complex patients with overlapping GI, pulmonary, and airway presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in integrated aerodigestive clinics, multi-specialty care conferences, and joint procedural days alongside pediatric pulmonology, ENT, pediatric surgery, speech therapy, and nutrition.
• Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical care for pediatric patients with general GI disorders and complex aerodigestive diseases across the CHCO network.
• Continue clinical research and expand the clinical trial portfolio for gastrointestinal and aerodigestive diseases.
• Perform a full suite of pediatric gastrointestinal procedures (e. g., endoscopies, colonoscopies) including coordinated procedures with Aerodigestive colleagues.
• Provide consultative and call support services for CHCO and affiliated healthcare partners.
• Oversee, mentor, and evaluate pediatric GI fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students from the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
• Contribute to the academic mission of the section through participation in clinical research, quality improvement (QI) initiatives, and protocol development for the Aerodigestive Program.·

Work Location: Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

While our faculty lead many highly regarded multidisciplinary programs—including the Gastrointestinal Eosinophilic Disease Program, Intestinal Rehabilitation Program, Neurogastroenterology and Motility Program, and Polyposis Clinic—this specific role provides a balanced clinical footprint. You will build a thriving General GI practice and provide dedicated support to our premier Aerodigestive Diseases Program.

Instructor

• Medical Degree (MD/DO)
• ABP Pediatrics Board Certified
• Completed fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at RRC-approved fellowship (or equivalent) by the time of hire date

Condition of Employment

• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years of clinical experience
• Demonstrated clinical experience in aerodigestive diseases
• Demonstrated clinical research experience in gastrointestinal and aerodigestive diseases

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of all pediatric GI disorders
• Demonstrated skills in pediatric GI endoscopic and other procedures
• Excellent teaching and education skills, knowledge, communication skills, and training of pediatric gastroenterology
• Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement projects.

Anticipated Pay Range

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $171,000 - $214,000

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
