Position Summary
We are looking for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our physical therapy team in providing hands-on, patient-focused care. The PTA will assist with therapeutic exercises and treatments, monitor patient progress, document care, and help patients safely work toward their rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide, instruct, and motivate patients through prescribed exercises and functional activities.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual treatments, massage, and appropriate physical therapy modalities.
- Monitor patients during treatment and communicate progress and concerns to the Physical Therapist.
- Measure range of motion, vital signs, and other treatment-related indicators.
- Assist patients with transfers, positioning, and use of therapy equipment.
- Fit and instruct patients on supportive devices such as braces and crutches.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
- Communicate with patients, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team.
- Follow established treatment plans and applicable standards of care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree or certification from an accredited physical therapy program with appropriate coursework and clinical experience.
- At least 1 year of experience as a physical therapy aide.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency or challenging situations.
Preferred
- Experience in an outpatient, orthopedic, or spine-focused setting.
- Experience working with therapeutic exercise equipment and physical therapy modalities.
