Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee daily nursing and clinical operations at our Barrington location. This position provides leadership for staffing, scheduling, employee development, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, and facility safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise staff while ensuring appropriate staffing and scheduling
- Oversee employee orientation, training, competencies, and ongoing development
- Monitor patient complaints, incidents, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and applicable regulatory standards
- Oversee infection prevention programs, policies, surveillance, and staff education
- Manage life safety programs, safety drills, policies, and required documentation
- Oversee radiation safety requirements, including monitoring equipment and staff compliance
- Ensure required quality, safety, infection control, and regulatory reports are completed
- Promote a positive, collaborative environment among staff and physicians
- Participate in quality, safety, infection control, and staff meetings
- Maintain required records, logs, policies, and training documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of clinical experience, or equivalent education and experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, medical terminology, and clinical practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain a safe, compliant, and professional patient-care environment
- Preferred
- Infection Preventionist certification
- Experience in a surgery center, ambulatory care, or similar healthcare setting
- Experience with quality improvement and regulatory compliance programs
