Job Description

When you join us, you’ll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of “helping people live the healthiest lives possible.”

As an Orthopedic Surgeon part of the Musculoskeletal team at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you can expect to work at Alta View Hospital; seeing a mix of OR and in-office orthopedic surgical patients.

The Musculoskeletal team at Alta View Hospital has 5 providers: 2 APPs, 2 physicians and 1 podiatrist. Fellow physicians specialize in hip and knee arthroplasty, primary care sports medicine, and podiatry.

This position will serve as the Head Team Physician for Utah Mammoth, offering a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of professional sports medicine. You will join a dynamic, fully integrated team delivering comprehensive care and coverage across elite programs throughout Utah.

About This Role

This role sits at the center of a high‑impact partnership between Intermountain Health, Select Health, and Smith Entertainment Group—demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing elite sports performance and community health across Utah. As the official medical partner for the Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth, with Select Health serving as the exclusive health insurance partner, this position offers a rare opportunity to practice at the highest level of professional sports medicine.

A key differentiator is the new Intermountain Health Sports Performance Center in Sandy. Embedded within SEG’s sports medicine campus, the physician will work alongside elite athletes and multidisciplinary experts in a state‑of‑the‑art environment designed for performance optimization, injury prevention, and recovery—closely integrated with the Utah Mammoth and Utah Jazz organizations.

Beyond direct team coverage, the broader partnership creates meaningful opportunities to lead and innovate in injury prevention, performance education, and community‑focused initiatives, including youth sports and mental health. For the right candidate, this role offers an exceptional blend of professional growth, visibility, and the chance to make a lasting impact both on and off the field.

  • Additional Position Highlights
  • This position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable)
  • You will practice at Alta View Hospital and the Sports Performance Center in Sandy, UT
  • You can anticipate 2 days per week in clinic, dedicated in-office and 2 days OR surgical time
  • Some patient-preferred hours will be required with local community travel requirements in the south Salt Lake area
