Now Hiring: Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Physician with Starling Diagnostics LLC
Location: Bronx, NY | Pay: $160 - $190/hour (commensurate with experience) | Schedule: Full-time, 10-hour shifts, Monday - Friday
Who You Are
Our Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Physician is part of a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals helping individuals and athletes safely recover from and prevent injuries. You'll provide comprehensive patient-centered care while supporting continual improvements and departmental growth. This role is key in helping individuals regain function, prevent future injuries, and return to their favorite activities.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completed residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), or Orthopedic Surgery
- Valid New York state medical license
- Board Certification in Sports Medicine or eligibility for certification
- 2+ years of experience as a sports medicine physician, ideally working with athletes at the amateur or professional level
- Strong knowledge of sports injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and rehabilitation techniques
- Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, family members, and a multidisciplinary medical team
- Sound judgement for quickly making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
We would also prefer that our Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Physician have completed some fellowship training in sports medicine or have experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
Sports Medicine & Orthopedics Physician Responsibilities
Your focus will be on delivering patient-centered diagnostic, preventive, treatment, and rehabilitative care for sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. You'll help patients feel well taken care of and develop personalized treatment plans to support recovery goals and long-term health.
Daily responsibilities include patient evaluations and pre-participation exams where you'll use imaging and other testing methods to accurately diagnose conditions and develop treatment strategies for acute and chronic injuries.
You'll use non-surgical approaches and advanced musculoskeletal care techniques (joint injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, etc.) and coordinate recovery programs with rehabilitation specialists.
You'll also emphasize the importance of injury prevention and educate patients, coaches, and families on proper training methods and return-to-play protocols. Coordinating with other healthcare providers, you'll maintain consistency in care, treatment options, and recovery expectations.
