Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Ob/Gyn

. This associate-level role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality women's healthcare services within a established medical practice environment.

In this contract role, you will deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal and postpartum management, gynecologic examinations, surgical procedures, and preventive health services. You will work closely with the practice's clinical team to ensure patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care throughout all stages of their reproductive health journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum services
• Perform routine and specialized gynecologic examinations and procedures
• Diagnose and manage gynecologic conditions, including infections, hormonal disorders, and pelvic pain
• Conduct high-risk pregnancy assessments and manage complications as needed
• Perform gynecologic surgical procedures in accordance with practice standards
• Counsel patients on family planning, contraception, and reproductive health options
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, and other providers to ensure coordinated patient care
• Adhere to all applicable clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited medical school, holding an MD or DO degree
• Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Louisiana or ability to obtain one
• Valid DEA registration and current Basic and Advanced Life Support certifications (BLS/ACLS)
• Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with an associate-level clinical background
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and familiarity with current women's health guidelines
• Excellent communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation standards
• Flexibility to meet the scheduling demands of locum coverage

Schedule: 5+ shifts per month

Setting: In-house

Annual Volume: 1,000 deliveries

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
