General Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing care in the Health Center. This position is responsible for the selection, training, discipline, and supervision of all nursing-related Health Center personnel, as well as the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operation within the departmental budget.

Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for the development, organization, and operation of nursing services for the Health Center.
- Coordinate and direct the overall planning of nursing services, including recommendations through a staffing plan regarding the number and levels of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants to be employed.
- Develop and maintain a schedule of daily rounds and assignments for all nursing staff to ensure 24-hour coverage sufficient to meet federal and state regulatory requirements and facility standards of care.
- Ensure significant clinical developments involving residents are reported to their physicians, the Medical Director, the Executive Director/Licensed Administrator, and the State, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse with a current license in North Carolina.
- Two years of experience in geriatric nursing and/or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree.
- Minimum of two years of nursing administration experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Participation in professional organizations primarily focused on geriatrics preferred.
- If applicable, must possess a current and valid driver's license and personal driving record consistent with the requirements of The Cedars Driver Selection Policy.

Part-time employees earn paid time off on a prorated basis. All employees are eligible for the 401(k) and employer match if they work 1,000 hours in a year.
