About the Opportunity

A school district is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to provide short-term FMLA coverage through January 2027. This position will work across the district with students of various ages and grade levels, with a particular focus on transition-aged students ages 18–22.

This is a great opportunity for a PT with school-based or educational experience who enjoys working with students across a variety of ages and needs.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist will provide services throughout the district, supporting students across multiple grade levels. While the caseload is mixed, there will be a larger emphasis on students in the district's transition program, serving young adults ages 18–22.

The assignment is expected to continue through January to help the district address compensatory minutes.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to students across the district
• Support students across a variety of grade levels and needs
• Work primarily with transition-aged students ages 18–22
• Provide services and support related to students' educational goals
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
• Help the district address compensatory service minutes

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
• Current IDFPR Physical Therapist License
• School-based or educational experience preferred
• Experience working with transition-aged students is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working with students across a wide range of ages and needs
