What You'll Do

As a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, You Will

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions across the lifespan.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with state regulations and organizational protocols.
  • Perform office-based procedures such as suturing, wound care, joint injections, and Pap smears.
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, community resources, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Provide occasional coverage at York General Urgent Care for the evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries within scope of practice.

What You'll Bring

  • Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Current Nebraska RN and APRN licensure.
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Prescriptive authority, including controlled substance prescribing privileges as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans. Additionally, they will perform office-based procedures and provide occasional coverage at the urgent care clinic.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice and be a graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program. Current Nebraska RN and APRN licensure, national certification, and BLS certification are required.
