Job Description
About Curative
Curative is building the future of health insurance with a first-of-its-kind employer-based plan designed to remove financial barriers and make care truly accessible: one monthly premium with $0 copays and $0 deductibles*. Backed by our recent $150M in Series B funding and valuation at $1.275B, Curative is scaling rapidly and investing in AI-powered service, deeper member engagement, and a smart network designed for today’s workforce.
Our north star guides everything we do: healthcare only works when people can actually use it. That belief drives every decision we make: from how we design our plan, support our members, to how we collaborate as a team.
If you want to do meaningful work with a team that moves fast, experiments boldly, and cares deeply, Curative is the place to do it. We’re growing fast and looking for teammates who want to help transform health insurance for the better.
Summary
We are seeking a Georgia-based Collaborative Physician (MD/DO) to provide clinical collaboration and regulatory oversight for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who conduct Curative's telemedicine-based Baseline Visits.
The Baseline Visit is a preventive health assessment and an important touchpoint for members of the Curative Health Plan. The APP delivered Baseline Visit is low-risk, non-prescriptive, and non-diagnostic and is not intended to provide treatment or ongoing disease management.
The Collaborative Physician does not routinely conduct Baseline Visits and instead serves as a clinical resource to assigned APPs while fulfilling applicable state-specific physician collaboration and supervision requirements.
This is a remote, part-time 1099 independent contractor opportunity for a physician who permanently resides in Georgia and maintains active medical licensure in both Georgia and Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical collaboration, supervision, and oversight for assigned Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in accordance with applicable state laws and regulations.
- Execute required written collaborative practice agreements, supervisory agreements, protocols, and other documentation necessary to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with assigned APPs.
- Participate in regularly scheduled collaborative meetings with assigned APPs and remain available for clinical consultation as needed.
- Conduct chart reviews and other clinical oversight activities at the frequency and volume required by applicable state law, regulation, collaborative agreements, and Curative policy.
- Ensure APP services provided under the collaborative relationship are consistent with applicable clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately document and maintain collaborative and supervisory relationships within Curative's systems and as required by applicable state regulatory bodies.
- Maintain appropriate availability to assigned APPs for clinical questions and consultation via telephone, email, or other approved electronic communication.
- Meet in person with collaborating APPs when required by the Georgia Composite Medical Board or other applicable state requirements.
- Serve as an alternate collaborating or supervising physician for APPs when needed and permitted by applicable state requirements.
- Participate in required training and orientation activities.
- Maintain all medical licenses and other credentials necessary to fulfill assigned collaborative relationships.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, Curative policies, and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Perform other collaboration- or supervision-related duties as reasonably required to maintain compliant APP practice.
The number of collaborative relationships assigned will vary based on organizational needs and applicable state-specific limitations and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Preventive Medicine.
- At least 3 years of primary care experience following completion of residency.
- Active and unencumbered medical licenses in Georgia and Texas.
- Permanent residency in the state of Georgia.
- Experience collaborating with or supervising Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants.
- Willing and able to meet in person with collaborating APPs as required by the Georgia Composite Medical Board.
- Ability to maintain all state-specific requirements associated with physician collaboration and APP supervision.
- Superior interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and responsively in a remote work environment.
- Commitment to collaborative, supportive, and compliant clinical practice.
Preferred
- Active medical licensure in one or more of the following states: Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Louisiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Jersey, California, North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Florida.
- Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLCC) eligibility or participation.
- Telemedicine or virtual care experience.
- Experience providing remote collaboration or supervision for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Spanish fluency.
- Startup or high-growth healthcare experience.
Note: Curative has no ownership interest in Curative PLLC. Curative PLLC is a separate, physician-owned entity. A Curative affiliate exclusively manages the non-clinical business operations of Curative PLLC.
Compensation & Malpractice Coverage
Compensation is $300 per collaborative relationship per month. The number of collaborative relationships may vary and will remain subject to applicable state laws, regulations, and supervisory or collaborative practice limits. Curative will provide malpractice insurance coverage for services performed within the scope of the physician's contracted responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical collaboration and regulatory oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants conducting telemedicine-based preventive health assessments. Maintain collaborative practice agreements, conduct chart reviews, and serve as a clinical resource for assigned staff.
Requirements
Requires a doctoral degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Preventive Medicine. Must have at least 3 years of primary care experience and active, unencumbered medical licenses in Georgia and Texas.
