Position Summary

Works under general supervision to classify new inmates performs assessments and identifies appropriate programs for individuals or groups.

Pay Grade 43

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in case management, social work or related experience; AND
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or related field.
• PROOF OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews inmate classification including checking status of Detainees and warrants, reviewing pending charges and parole status and contacting other agencies regarding warrants, parole and probation status.
• Tracks disciplinary convictions of inmates, conducts disciplinary reviews.
• Interviews inmates to identify program needs, reviews program credits and program reviews that result in sentencing credits.
• Enters classification levels into OMSe.
• Reviews inmate movement/reclassification to move to higher or lower security housing.
• Maintains all data in Corrections internal computer system.
• Researches criminal history of inmates using Corrections data system.
• Performs additional duties as required or directed.

• Ability to make on-the-spot decisions.

Special Requirements

• Must pass a TB screen and drug examination.
• Must be on call and available for various shifts and weekend work.
