Locum Optometry Physician

Position Overview: Medical Optometry Physician

Contract Length

Immediate start, 3-month engagement with a strong potential for extension.

Practice Setting

Outpatient clinic environment.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.

Clinical Duties

• Conduct routine eye examinations.
• Perform contact lens fittings.
• Manage eye urgencies and emergencies.
• Provide comprehensive medical optometry care.
• Address red eye conditions.
• Patient demographics include ages 4 and above, necessitating frequent dilation.
• Note: Surgical procedures are not part of this role. Experience with specialty contact lenses is preferred but not mandatory.

Call Requirements

No on-call duties are expected.

Patient Load

Anticipated caseload of approximately 18 scheduled patients per day.

Team Structure

Supported by a full complement of administrative and clinical staff.

Electronic Medical Record System

EPIC.

Required Certifications

Board Certification, current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Licensure

Active California state license is mandatory.
