Job Description

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesia care within a respected medical practice environment. As a Locum CRNA, you will administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. You will collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes. The schedule offers predictable coverage with the support of a collaborative care team focused on clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care to patients across a range of surgical procedures
  • Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygenation, and consciousness throughout procedures
  • Adjust anesthesia levels and intervene promptly to manage changes in patient status
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care
  • Manage airway placement, ventilation, and emergency airway interventions as needed
  • Ensure proper preparation, calibration, and safe operation of anesthesia equipment
  • Document anesthesia records, medications, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide post-anesthesia evaluation and support patient recovery and pain management
  • Adhere to facility protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in rapid response situations
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding anesthesia procedures and expectations

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent education in nursing or a related anesthesia program
  • Current, unrestricted CRNA certification and state licensure in Indiana
  • Minimum of two years of clinical anesthesia experience preferred
  • Must have strong airway management and regional anesthesia skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team
  • Must have excellent communication and patient-interaction skills
  • Must have the ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Nice-to-have: experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Nice-to-have: prior locum or contract-based clinical experience
  • Ability to work on-site in Terre Haute and adapt to varying surgical schedules

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-3p

Beeper Call Requirement: 3p-7a

9 MOR rooms, 2 endo rooms, 1 CV room, 1 cath lab, 1 IR room

Case Types: Orthopedics, endo, general, ophthalmology, vascular, pediatrics, urology, cardiac, acute pain management, and trauma

Blocks required

Support Staff: MDs onsite

EMR: Cerner

Must be board-certified

New grads accepted

ACLS and BLS required

Paid travel & expenses
