• Pay: $17.00/hour + up to $1.50/hour overnight shift differential ($18.50/hour)

Make a Difference in Recovery—Even Overnight

Freedom Detox, part of Pyramid Healthcare, is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our overnight team in Gastonia, NC.

This full-time overnight position offers 12-hour shifts and requires open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. You’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals receiving substance use and mental health treatment.

As an Overnight BHT, you’ll monitor clients, provide support when needed, complete required documentation, and work as part of a team dedicated to helping clients through the recovery process.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct supervision, support, and engagement with clients throughout the overnight shift
• Monitor client safety and well-being throughout the night
• Complete regular rounds and observations according to program requirements
• Recognize and respond appropriately to behavioral, emotional, or medical concerns
• Provide crisis support and notify appropriate clinical staff when needed
• Observe and document client self-administration of medications, as applicable
• Maintain accurate and timely client documentation
• Support a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
• Assist with client needs and requests during overnight hours
• Follow individualized treatment plans and program policies
• Communicate important client updates and concerns to incoming staff
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
• Complete required training and maintain compliance with company standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

• Previous experience in behavioral health, healthcare, residential treatment, or a related field preferred
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with a safe driving record
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required
• Ability to remain alert, attentive, and responsive throughout an overnight shift
• Open availability required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to work independently while remaining connected with the treatment team
