Job Description

Join our dynamic NICU team—a 15-bed, Level III unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for infants born as early as 23 weeks. As a Unit Educator, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping clinical excellence and advancing nursing practice across our unit.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate innovative educational initiatives and quality improvement projects that elevate patient outcomes and nursing practice

Inspire and mentor nursing staff by modeling excellence in clinical practice, demonstrating best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

Develop and deliver engaging educational programs for nursing staff, patients, and families that translate evidence-based knowledge into meaningful clinical practice

Champion quality improvement initiatives that drive measurable enhancements in patient safety, care delivery, and team performance

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate cutting-edge nursing knowledge and innovations into daily unit operations

Uphold the highest standards of nursing care and professional practice, serving as a role model for clinical excellence and ethical decision-making

  • SCHEDULE: 36 hours per week, Day Shift, Onsite. Full-Time Benefit Eligible
  • LOCATION: Henry Ford Providence Southfield

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Equivalent of four years clinical experience with defined patient population preferred.
  • Demonstrates interest and ability to teach patients, families and co-workers.

Demonstrates leadership, good communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills, flexibility, self-directiveness and initiative required.

Certifications/Licensures Required

  • Current Michigan RN licensure required.
  • Health care provider certification (BCLS) required
