Job Description

UI Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 100%25 Staff Nurse to work in the OBGYN Clinic at our North Dodge location.

Sign-on incentive

Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000

to work at the Women's Health Clinic - North Dodge Street location.

Position Summary

Assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. Provide leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards.

Duties to include

Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.

  • Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
  • Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.

Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.

Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response.

  • Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care.

Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.

Percent of Time: 100%25 (40 hours per week)

Salary: $61,782 minimum at 100%25 effort to commensurate. Salary will be based on years of experience and percent effort

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a. m.–5:00 p. m. Closed weekends and holidays.

Location: 1360 North Dodge Street. (Free onsite parking)

Education

An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required

Required Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.

Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire

Key Responsibilities

The staff nurse will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and coordinate the continuum of care within the OBGYN clinic. They are also responsible for providing leadership to the nursing team and ensuring all clinical practices adhere to safety protocols and unit standards.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a nursing degree (Associate, Diploma, Baccalaureate, or Master's) and possess a current license to practice nursing in Iowa. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities, are required for effective collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
