Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Behavioral Health, Adult Job Type: Full Time | Days

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Technician who excels in this role:

  • Under the supervision of an RN, assists in assuring optimal patient care.
  • Patient Monitoring & Safety: Observe patients closely, document behaviors, and ensure a safe, secure environment.
  • Support Daily Living Activities: Assist patients with hygiene, meals, routines, and basic care needs.
  • Implement Treatment Plans: Follow care plans developed by clinicians, including leading or supporting therapeutic activities.
  • Crisis Intervention: De-escalate situations and respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises.
  • Documentation & Communication: Record patient progress and communicate updates to nurses, therapists, and the care team.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional

requirements include:

  • Nursing Assistant Certificate (SRNA/CNA) preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Handle with Care certification required within 7 days of hire

Key Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Technician assists in patient care by monitoring behaviors, ensuring a safe environment, and supporting daily living activities. They also implement treatment plans, facilitate therapeutic activities, and perform crisis intervention under the supervision of an RN.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle with Care certifications. A Nursing Assistant Certificate (SRNA/CNA) is preferred for this role.
