Maya Therapy Center
Maya Therapy Center is seeking a reliable, flexible, and team-oriented Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our residential behavioral health team on a part-time basis.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday | 3:00 p. m. – 11:00 p. m.
This is primarily a weekend position. The selected candidate should also have some flexibility to provide occasional weekday coverage as needed, including coverage for staff call-outs, vacations, or other staffing needs. Reliability, punctuality, and consistent weekend availability are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and behavioral health support to residents.
- Implement and support individualized treatment/service plans.
- Facilitate and document psychoeducation, life-skills, and therapeutic activities.
- Observe and document resident behaviors, progress, and significant changes.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and development of independent living skills.
- Provide medication assistance and complete required medication documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic residential environment.
- Provide appropriate behavioral interventions, redirection, and crisis support when necessary.
- Complete required shift documentation accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with the Lead BHT, administration, clinical providers, and other members of the treatment team.
- Maintain professional boundaries and comply with confidentiality and agency policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral health diagnoses and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Ability to understand medications commonly prescribed for behavioral health conditions.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Mental Health First Aid, CPI/CTI, or other agency-approved behavioral health/crisis-response training, as applicable.
- Valid Arizona Class D driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card and current TB screening.
- Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent when managing challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF) or similar residential behavioral health setting is strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate understands that consistency is important in a residential behavioral health setting and can be counted on to report for scheduled weekend shifts while occasionally assisting with additional coverage when available.
Position Type: Part-Time
Regular Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 3:00 p. m. – 11:00 p. m.
Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours based on staffing needs
Requirements
Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma and previous experience in behavioral health or co-occurring disorders. Current First Aid, CPR, and a valid driver's license are required, along with a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
