Job Description
Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Full-Time | Optimal Living Senior Community | Raleigh, North Carolina
- Prava Therapy
Therapy That Helps People Keep Living Life on Their Terms.
Prava Therapy is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team within a premier, luxury resort-style senior living community in the Brier Creek / Raleigh, North Carolina area.
This community emphasizes an "Optimal Living" philosophy—focusing on an active lifestyle, holistic wellness, lifelong learning, resort-style amenities, and continuous engagement. Residents value independence, connection, health, and maintaining an active, fulfilling life.
You'll get to know your residents, their routines, and the activities that matter most to them.
Your Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll lead clinical occupational therapy care, performing evaluations and designing plans of care while embedding yourself as a trusted clinical partner within this vibrant community.
You'll
Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and establish individualized, evidence-based plans of care across adult/geriatric occupational therapy domains.
Deliver skilled treatment interventions addressing ADLs, IADLs, functional mobility, upper extremity motor function, fine motor coordination, energy conservation, and joint protection.
Target home and apartment safety, cognitive-functional performance, sensory/perceptual processing, visual-spatial skills, ergonomics, and daily routine organization.
Introduce, adapt, and train residents, caregivers, and staff on adaptive equipment, compensatory daily living techniques, environmental modifications, and physical safety tools.
Leverage community wellness features—such as fitness centers, art/creative studios, teaching kitchens, group activity spaces, outdoor pathways, and therapy spaces—to practice real-world functional daily living and engagement.
Identify subtle changes in resident function, cognitive-functional status, or safety to support proactive care and timely plan-of-care adjustments.
Educate residents, families, caregivers, and community staff on functional independence, cognitive strategies, energy conservation, and adaptive equipment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team partners, physicians, community leadership, wellness directors, life enrichment teams, and caregivers.
Monitor resident progress, document evaluations and treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner, and continuously adjust plans of care based on functional outcomes.
Participate in care coordination, interdisciplinary team discussions, and community wellness initiatives as appropriate.
- Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, professionalism, and continuous learning.
- WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN OT WHO THINKS BEYOND THE TREATMENT SESSION.
You believe great therapy isn't simply about completing an assessment or guiding someone through a routine checklist. It's about helping someone participate fully in the resort-style lifestyle they've chosen.
That might mean managing daily routines effortlessly, dressing independently, engaging in favorite hobbies and creative arts, dining comfortably with friends, navigating community amenities, or cooking safely in their apartment.
You Believe
- Every intervention should have a functional, real-world purpose.
- Residents should be appropriately challenged—not underestimated.
- Independence, autonomy, and holistic well-being are clinical priorities.
- Proactive clinical identification, environmental adaptation, and safety support matter.
- Adaptive equipment integration, routine structuring, and caregiver education are essential components of skilled care.
- Functional outcomes matter more than simply completing treatment minutes.
- Strong clinical relationships lead to better care.
You'll Have a Community — Not Just a Caseload.
Working in a resort-style senior community gives you the opportunity to see residents beyond the treatment session.
You'll see them participating in life enrichment events, utilizing wellness and fitness facilities, enjoying meals in community dining venues, or spending time outdoors. Those real-world interactions provide valuable insight into their functional performance in natural contexts, creating opportunities to support continued independence.
Therapy becomes part of everyday life—not something that exists separately from it.
