Job Description
Community Academy of Philadelphia Charter School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will support the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and overall well-being of students while working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and other members of the student support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and write legally defensible evaluations and re-evaluations.
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments and evaluations in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide counseling, consultation, and support to students as appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to address student needs.
- Assist with identifying academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns and developing appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
- Maintain evaluation timelines per PDE guidelines.
- Participate in manifestation determination meetings as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate student support plans.
- Support the school’s efforts to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist certification is required.
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with school-age children.
- Knowledge of special education regulations, assessment practices, and intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
