Job Description

VERGE THERAPY, LLCLicensed Psychologist - Assessment ServicesPart time, 20 hours per week

  • Salaried with performance bonus
  • Braintree or Woburn

About Verge Therapy

Verge Therapy is a clinician-owned and operated practice built on the belief that therapy should be relational, not transactional. We provide personal, evidence-based care and a work environment grounded in authenticity, innovation, adaptability, growth, and connection.

The Role

We are looking for a client-centered Licensed Psychologist to join our assessment team on a part-time basis.

You will provide comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for clients ages 3 through 22; answering the questions families and schools bring us most often: attention and executive functioning, learning differences, autism, and the ways mood, anxiety and behavior shape how a young person learns and functions day to day.

This role is well suited to a clinician balancing another practice, teaching, caregiving or a deliberate reduced schedule. This is a dedicated assessment role. You will not carry a therapy caseload.

What You'll Do

Conduct diagnostic interviews with clients and their parents or guardians.

Select and tailor standardized batteries to the specific referral question, choosing measures sensitive enough to capture subtle differences.

Administer, score and interpret measures of cognitive ability, academic achievement, attention, executive functioning, and social-emotional and behavioral functioning.

Evaluate for ADHD, specific learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and co-occurring mood, anxiety and behavioral conditions.

Write integrative, parent-friendly reports that translate clinical data into practical recommendations for home and school.

Interpret findings in the context of educational frameworks (IEP and 504) and give actionable classroom recommendations.

  • Deliver feedback sessions families understand and can act on, with support, resources and clear next steps.
  • Coordinate with schools, pediatricians and outside providers where consent is in place.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.

What You Bring

Required

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical, counseling or school psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as a Licensed Psychologist, or license-eligible with licensure in hand by your start date.
  • Supervised experience conducting psychological or psychoeducational assessment with children and adolescents.

Demonstrated competence administering and interpreting standardized cognitive, academic and social-emotional measures.

Strong writing skills. Report quality is central to this role.

A commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Preferred, Not Required

  • ADOS-2 training, or willingness to complete it; we will fund it.
  • Experience evaluating autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Familiarity with IEP and 504 processes and school-based consultation.
  • Postdoctoral training or fellowship in clinical neuropsychology.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or Cape Verdean Creole.

Caseload Expectation

An evaluation is complete when the written report has been delivered to the family and the feedback session has been held. Expectations scale with the schedule you choose — each option below is set at roughly the same share of what that schedule can realistically produce.

  • Schedule Base salary Per Quarter Per Year
  • 24 hours / week $81,000 12 48
  • 20 hours / week $67,500 10 40
  • 16 hours / week $54,000 8 32

We measure by the quarter, not the month. Two evaluations in one month and four the next meets the quarter. Expectations apply where Verge has referred a sufficient volume of appropriate cases — a shortfall caused by referral flow, room availability or authorization delays is never counted against you.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary pro-rated from a full-time equivalent of $135,000 (see the schedule options above)

$1,000 for each completed evaluation above the annual minimum, calculated at year end and paid within 30 days. The incentive requires employment through December 31.

  • Two weeks paid vacation plus recognized holidays
  • Flexible work environment with partial remote work
  • Control over your own testing calendar
  • 40 hours Massachusetts earned sick time
  • 401(k) with up to 4% employer match
  • Health and dental insurance available
  • Liability and malpractice insurance
  • Continuing education stipend

What Verge Handles For You

  • A consistent referral pipeline - you are not responsible for building a caseload.
  • Psychometrist support for test administration and scoring.
  • Insurance credentialing.
  • Scheduling, benefit verification, prior authorization and billing.
  • Structured systems, report templates and a standard battery.
  • A leadership team focused on efficiency and clinician experience.

Location & Schedule

Braintree or Woburn. Intakes, testing and feedback sessions are on site; interpretation and report writing may be done remotely. You set your days within a consistent weekly schedule - testing days need to be predictable for families and for room scheduling, but which days they are is yours to choose.
