Position

OBRA Psychologist – PRN, Hybrid

Responsible To

OBRA Coordinator

Position Summary

The psychologist will confirm diagnoses or perform diagnostic testing to assess the referred client’s level of intellectual functioning and adaptive skills. The psychologist will also complete psychological assessments, as needed, for Pre-Admission Screenings for adults who are identified as intellectually or developmentally disabled.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or an equivalent degree.
  • Licensure to practice in the State of Michigan at the "Psychologist Limited License" or “Psychologist Fully Licensed” level.
  • Valid and legal Michigan driver’s license and personal vehicle required.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team context.
  • Knowledge of and experience in psychological testing and diagnostic principles.

Requirements

  • Independently drives personal car.
  • Communicates both orally and in writing with persons served, other agencies, co-workers, etc.
  • Engages in meetings with high level of concentration
  • over extended periods of time.
  • Understands and follows instructions.
  • Normal hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision within normal range.
  • Must be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations.
  • Must be able to move safely about work area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive psychological assessments, including testing and diagnosing, as needed, for Pre-Admission Screenings of adults who are identified as intellectually or developmentally disabled.
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of the classification and diagnosis of intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities, and the ability to select and administer appropriate psychometric, personality, and adaptive functioning assessments based on the needs of each person.
  • May provide consultation and training to nursing facility staff, as part of the OBRA team.
  • Comply with policies, procedures and standards established by Thresholds, network180 and MDHHS and relevant Federal, State, and City Departments.
  • Comply with all documentation requirements on behalf of the person served in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures of the Nursing Facility, Thresholds, or the local or State Mental Health Agencies.
  • Perform all other related duties/responsibilities, assigned by immediate supervisor or other agency administrator.

Position Status

  • This is a hybrid, PRN (as-needed) position. Assignments will be offered based on program volume and Psychologist’s availability.

Pay

  • $150 per completed OBRA Assessment.
