Certified Behavioral Health Technician
Duties
Monitor and record vital signs and medical documentation accurately to ensure comprehensive patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Conduct intake services and participate in ongoing care strategies
Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during behavioral episodes or emergencies to ensure safety for patients and staff
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to medical terminology standards
Support Patients with Daily Activities and Meals
Maintain a safe environment by performing behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience working with adults in a mental health setting
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management practices
- Ability to perform medical procedures such as vital signs measurement and medication administration accurately
- Familiarity with principles and their application in a mental health settings
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient care documentation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology
- Compassionate attitude with the ability to handle sensitive situations involving PTSD care
