Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Gastroenterologist with expertise and advanced training in ERCP and EUS procedures. You will be part of a high-volume and high-producing Gastroenterology practice, consisting of 8 Gastroenterologists and supported by 10 APPs, 4 Nurses and 8 Medical Assistants. Our physicians provide inpatient critical care at WakeMed as well as outpatient services and procedures. We care for patients across Wake County with offices in Raleigh and Cary.

  • Responsibilities include performing advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to:
  • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
  • EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) and EUS-guided interventions
  • Stent placement, and other complex endoscopic procedures
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary diseases
  • Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists in multidisciplinary case management
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and program development
  • Perform rigorous inpatient and outpatient GI assessments in a collaborative environment
  • Serve as teaching faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency programs
  • Engage in peer review, lectures/presentations, and quality assurance initiatives
  • Promote health maintenance, prevention, and patient advocacy

The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APPs within their division.

The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice.

Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.
