As a per diem, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist you will play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact by ensuring the accuracy of medication orders, verifying technician-prepared products, and safeguarding controlled substances.

You will contribute to a high-performing team by mentoring new staff, maintaining seamless daily operations, and supporting the Director in optimizing pharmacy performance.

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will provide coverage at least 4 hours every two weeks and additionally to help cover PTO or as needed, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, weekends 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Location: Located in a quiet, residential area of Champaign, Pavilion Behavioral Health offers care for Adult Psychiatric, Addiction Recovery, Youth Services, and Residential Treatment.

Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy utilizes HCS and Omnicell. Pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm and weekends, 2:00pm-6:00pm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school
  • Current Illinois Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Proficient computer skills with pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • PharmD
  • 1+ years of recent pharmacist experience
