Substance Use Counselor

Join Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare as a Substance Use Counselor in Charles City, Iowa.

Key Responsibilities

• Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism and objectivity.

• Provide intervention, evaluation/assessment, individual, group and family counseling to individuals affected by behavioral health conditions to include all outpatient treatment programs.

• Develop and maintain a community referral network.

• Provide education and training to individuals, groups and agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in health-related field required for treatment of substance use and gambling disorders.

• For clinicians treating individuals with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis, an Iowa Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate or license preferred; ability to complete certification or license within 1 year of employment considered.

• Proficiency in oral and written communication skills, as well as record keeping.

• Technology skills allowing for proficiency in use of electronic health record.

Work Schedule

• Full-Time position.

• Call responsibilities required.
