The Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and medication management within a state hospital setting. They also lead recovery teams, supervise staff, and participate in quality improvement programs to ensure high standards of patient care.
Candidates must hold a master's degree or higher from an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program and be certified by the Texas Board of Nursing. At least two years of clinical nursing experience is required, with preference given to those with one year of experience as an APRN and one year in a supervisory role.
