Physician Assistant - Interventional Radiology

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team in St. Louis, MO. The WashU Interventional Radiology team currently consists of 16 physicians and 10 Physician Assistants at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Missouri Baptist Hospital, and Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. Once trained, this Physician Assistant will independently perform image-guided procedures primarily. There will be occasional cross covering of the inpatient consult and rounding service.

New grads welcome to apply with experience from surgical rotations. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Performs physical assessments/examinations. Assesses and counsels patients and obtains medical histories. Monitors patient's adherence to protocols. Coordinates screening for research studies. Collects and records data per research requirements and guidelines. Develops and implements adherence plans used with protocols. Bills for professional services as permitted by the collaborative practice agreement. Interprets diagnostic tests results for deviations from normal. Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram and laboratory test. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management. Provides physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objective, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
