Key Responsibilities

• Daily uses advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data and manage patients' caseload.

• Obtains a comprehensive health, developmental, and family history on patients as documented in the patient’s medical record.

• Assess the patient’s physical status through the physical examination as documented in the patient’s medical record.

• Differentiates between normal and abnormal findings as documented in the patient’s medical record.

Requirements

• Required master's degree Science in Nursing -For employees hired with Texas.

• Children’s before 03/01/17, an MSN is required for NPs licensed 01/01/03 or after. -For employees hired with Texas Children’s before 03/01/17, either an MSN or a certificate program is required for NPs licensed prior to 01/01/03.

• Required Licenses/Certifications o    RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing.

• WHNP-BC - Cert-Womens Health Care NP by the Texas Board of Nursing.
