Job Description
About the Role
Board Certified BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician serving as a Hospitalist is responsible for providing care to patients during their stay at the hospital. Duties include managing schedules for inpatient treatments and coordinating care providers, ordering test and maintaining medical records for their patients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology, physical sciences, or related field.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- 4-7 years' internship and residency training, specializing in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Valid and active medical license in the state of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
- Familiarity with hospital quality metrics and patient safety protocols.
- Strong background in evidence-based medicine and clinical research.
- Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary hospital team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
- Coordinate with specialists, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing education to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.

Hospitalists provide efficient care delivery and improve clinical outcomes, reducing mortality rates, enhancing care coordination, preventing hospital-acquired infections, and facilitating comprehensive transitions of care. The Hospitalist's extensive clinical experience in caring for some the most complex medically ill patients as well as the focus on providing patient-centered care translates into safer, higher quality care for hsopitalized patients.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree with 4-7 years of internship and residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. A valid and active medical license in the state of Arkansas is required.
