The Divisional Lead, Quality - Behavioral Health provides senior leadership for quality performance across the behavioral health division.

The role partners with practice administrators, group practice directors, behavioral health clinicians, primary care leaders, and operational teams to interpret performance data, establish improvement priorities, and implement sustainable interventions.

The position ensures that behavioral health quality efforts are clinically sound, data informed, and aligned with organizational, payer, and regulatory expectations. This is a hybrid role and will have flexibility to work remote on occasion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Present behavioral health quality dashboards, trends, risks, and improvement priorities to clinic, divisional, and executive leaders.

Design, implement, and monitor improvement strategies for behavioral health access, quality, safety, and outcomes.

Analyze performance data to identify variation, root causes, workflow barriers, and opportunities for improvement.

Develop corrective action plans for missed targets, assign accountability, and monitor progress through resolution.

Translate behavioral health measure specifications, payer requirements, and regulatory changes into practical workflows and education.

Facilitate cross-functional problem solving among behavioral health, primary care, operations, analytics, information technology, compliance, and external partners.

  • Support leaders and care teams in adopting evidence-based practices and reliable improvement methods.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of improvement initiatives, decisions, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
  • Escalate material performance, compliance, data integrity, or implementation risks to appropriate leaders.
  • Build repeatable processes that strengthen accountability and sustain improvement across sites.
  • Must be willing to travel to different locations and possess a valid Indiana Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Behavioral Health Quality Scope

  • Depression screening, diagnostic assessment, treatment initiation, and follow-up, including PHQ-9 monitoring.
  • Substance use screening, brief intervention, referral, and treatment-related measures.
  • Care coordination among behavioral health, primary care, hospitals, emergency departments, and community partners.
  • Timely follow-up after behavioral health hospitalization or emergency department utilization.
  • Medication management, treatment plan adherence, documentation quality, and data integrity.
  • Integrated and whole-person care workflows that address physical, behavioral, and social needs.

Core Competencies

  • Senior-level presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health quality measures, integrated care models, and care coordination workflows.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical action.
  • Ability to influence leaders and teams without direct authority.
  • Strong facilitation, change management, prioritization, and follow-through.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, healthcare administration, public health, nursing, social work, quality, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, behavioral health operations, population health, clinical performance management, or a related area.

Demonstrated leadership experience as a people leader or senior individual contributor.

Experience using quality data to develop, implement, and evaluate performance improvement plans.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an FQHC, community health center, certified community behavioral health clinic, or integrated care environment.

Advanced degree or relevant clinical licensure.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Lean Six Sigma, or another relevant quality improvement credential.

Experience with behavioral health quality measures, healthcare analytics, and electronic health record workflows.
