Job Description
. This is a contract, on-site position within the medical practice industry, offering a unique opportunity to provide essential anesthesia care in a dynamic clinical environment.
As a Locum AA or CRNA, you will deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia services across a variety of surgical and procedural cases. Working alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff, you will play a critical role in patient assessment, anesthesia administration, and perioperative monitoring to ensure optimal outcomes for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluate patient medical histories
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during anesthesia
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and clinical teams
- Manage airway and respiratory support throughout procedures
- Document anesthesia records accurately and in a timely manner
- Respond to intraoperative emergencies and adjust anesthesia as needed
- Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor patient recovery
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and clinical standards
- Educate patients and families on anesthesia procedures and expectations
- Maintain anesthesia equipment and report any malfunctions
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Anesthesiology or a related field
- Current certification as an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) or CRNA
- Valid state licensure to practice in Missouri
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia techniques and pharmacology
- Experience in perioperative and intraoperative patient monitoring
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Preferred: Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Preferred: Prior locum or contract-based clinical experience
Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts
No Weekends
Duties: Complete pre- and post-anesthesia evaluations, administer anesthesia, monitor patients, and manage recovery
Required Procedures: Anesthesia induction, intubation, CPR, and emergency airway management
Must be board-certified
