- vision of the Lead Hospital Medicine physician and in association with members of the Hospitalist team include: Examine patients and review medical history prior to admission Perform and document a H&P that is co-signed by the attending physician within 24 hours Placing orders for appropriate diagnostic and treatment modalities as part of the care plan Seeking appropriate specialty and sub-specialty consultations Formalizing the patient handoff process as part of continuity of care Effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues that are part of the care team (Physician Assistant) The Physician Assistant has specific education and training in the care of hospitalized patients. - vision of the Lead Hospital Medicine physician and in association with members of the Hospitalist team include: Examine patients and review medical history prior to admission Perform and document a H&P that is co-signed by the attending physician within 24 hours Placing orders for appropriate diagnostic and treatment modalities as part of the care plan Seeking appropriate specialty and sub-specialty consultations Formalizing the patient handoff process as part of continuity of care Effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues that are part of the care team MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner - Minimum Masters Prepared: Curriculum must include didactic in clinical experience in Acute Care Current Louisiana Registered Nurse License (RN) Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure in Louisiana (APRN) Eligible for limited prescriptive authority in Louisiana as approved by St. Tammany Health System Physician Assistant - Minimum Masters Prepared: Curriculum must include didactic in clinical experience in Acute Care Current Physician Assistant Licensure in Louisiana (PA) Eligible for limited prescriptive authority in Louisiana as approved by St. Tammany Health System PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
