Staff Educator & Infection Control Nurse Opportunity

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients’ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights.

Position Summary

The Staff Educator is responsible for assisting the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events with respect to all staff required training. Also provides, on as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments. Participates in treatment team meetings as needed.

Job Duties Include

Assures staff trainings address any changes in health care management and health science and technology

Ensure the designs of the education and training programs are based on instructional strategies to enhance staff retention

  • Administers and ensures compliance with TB Skin tests and flu.
  • Participate in the antibiotic stewardship program; running reports and doing follow up work with providers.

Education:

A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university required; A Master’s Degree (M. A.) preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

Current KY Nursing Licensure

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience and/or training; preferably in a behavioral health or acute setting.
