Physician -Surgery - Orthopedic

Position Available: Staff Orthopedic Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced full-time Staff Orthopedic Surgeon to enhance a dynamic Orthopedics team. This role is integral to our commitment to providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care and surgical excellence within a collaborative healthcare framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnoses of orthopedic conditions through detailed physical examinations, comprehensive medical history assessments, and advanced diagnostic imaging modalities including X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate both surgical and non-surgical methodologies tailored to the specific needs of patients.
• Execute a wide array of orthopedic surgical procedures, encompassing joint arthroplasties, complex fracture repairs, arthroscopic interventions, and other specialized orthopedic techniques.
• Deliver comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery pathways to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure cohesive patient management.
• Participate in the rotating on-call responsibilities as part of the full-time orthopedic service.
• Maintain meticulous and timely patient medical records, documenting evaluations, treatment strategies, and surgical outcomes with precision.
• Effectively communicate with patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues regarding diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and comprehensive care strategies.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments and innovations in orthopedic surgery, applying evidence-based practices to inform clinical decision-making.
• Engage in ongoing medical education, professional development, and relevant conferences and workshops to enhance clinical expertise.
• Uphold ethical, professional, and regulatory standards, including patient confidentiality, informed consent processes, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (if Board Eligible, please provide date of graduation).
• Clean malpractice history and submission of the most recent NPDB Self Query Report (dated within 30 days).
• Current certifications: CPR (to be obtained prior to start) and DEA (to be obtained prior to start).
• Valid Vermont medical license for the practice of orthopedic surgery.
• CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.

Certification Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Active State License in Vermont.
