Job Description

The College of Medicine (COM) at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center seeks an innovative, strategic leader to become the next Chair of Physician Assistant Studies.

The Chair is the primary academic and administrative leader who is responsible for the PA program's accreditation, curriculum, faculty, and student outcomes. This is a part-time non-tenure position.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees research, educational, clinical, administrative, and supervisory duties related to this position that may be assigned by the Executive Dean of the College of Medicine. Serves as director/supervisor of all educational activities. Assures continued accreditation for the program.

Oversees clinical operations and duties. Serves as primary recruiter for faculty. Leads faculty and complete annual reviews with duty assignments and goals for facultyAssumes responsibility for all finances.

Requirements

EDUCATION: Doctoral Degree from an accredited program. EXPERIENCE: Minimum rank of Associate Professor is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the PA profession, role, practice, and educational process and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Desirable
