Job Description
At NorthBay Health the OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner supports the Center for Women’s Health practice in providing low risk antepartum, intra-partum and postpartum care, pre-conception, family planning, routine gynecology, and well woman care.
The OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner will provide routine prenatal care to pregnant women from point of entry into care through the immediate post-partum period.
The OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner will conduct physical examinations, prescribe medications including controlled substances and contraceptive methods, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. The OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner will include health promotion, disease prevention and individualized wellness education and counseling. Patient care is provided under the direction of a supervising physician within the Center for Women’s Health.
Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive women's health services, including prenatal, postpartum, and routine gynecological care. They are responsible for conducting physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications under the direction of a supervising physician.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in nursing or a related clinical field and possess current California Nurse Practitioner licensure. A minimum of three years of experience in an active OB/GYN practice is required, along with relevant board certifications and BLS certification.
