This is an opportunity to practice at the forefront of thoracic oncology within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Clinical responsibilities are primarily based in the outpatient thoracic oncology clinic, supported by an experienced and integrated team of advanced practice providers, with select inpatient responsibilities.

You will work alongside leaders in thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and radiology—collectively delivering seamless, patient-centered care grounded in innovation and compassion.

Beyond clinical excellence, this role offers meaningful opportunities to engage in clinical trials and translational research within a state-of-the-art academic setting.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience License and Certification Requirement 1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York. 2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Thoracic Surgery and Oncology.

Education and Experience Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the specialty of Thoracic Surgery and Oncology.

NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Over the past century, Roswell Park has been the source of historic breakthroughs in the field of oncology. Roswell Park initiated the nation’s first chemotherapy research program. Roswell Park conducted some of the earliest studies linking smoking to lung cancer.

Roswell Park developed the PSA test for prostate-cancer screening. Roswell Park developed photodynamic therapy (PDT), approved by the FDA for the treatment of esophageal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, and precancerous lesions in patients with Barrett's esophagus.

Roswell Park is now developing the second generation of PDT drugs. Roswell Park geneticists created the gene library used to map and sequence the human genome. An Roswell Park geneticist was part of the research team involved in the international effort.
